Terms of service

Last updated: October 2, 2026

Overview

Macronova LLC ("Macronova," "we," "us," or "our") operates www.macronova.co, the webpages we control that link to these Terms, and the information, shopping features, and customer services we provide through them (collectively, the "Site"). We offer granola through our U.S. direct-to-consumer store. Shopify hosts our store and supports checkout and payments.

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") before using the Site. These Terms, our Terms of Sale, and our Return Policy form the "Agreement." Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and your privacy choices.

The Agreement applies to visitors, customers, account holders, and people who submit content through the Site. By affirmatively accepting these Terms through a feature that presents them, including checkout or account registration where offered, you agree to the Agreement. Continued use after clear notice of these Terms constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law. Permission to use the Site is subject to the Agreement. If you use the Site for a business, you confirm your authority to accept the Agreement for that business. "You" refers to the individual user or the business that user is authorized to represent.

The Terms of Sale govern purchase-specific questions, including orders, payment, shipping, subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds, if the policies conflict. Official rules govern the specific promotions to which they apply. These Terms govern other Site-use questions. Your mandatory consumer rights apply throughout the Agreement.

1. Nutrition, Fitness and Well-Being Information

Our Site may provide general information about food, ingredients, nutrition, fitness, and well-being. That information serves educational purposes. A qualified health professional can provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, and guidance specific to your health needs. Consult that professional about changes to your diet or exercise, medical conditions, and questions involving medications. Follow professional medical guidance and seek care promptly when needed. In a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Review the current ingredient, nutrition, and allergen information before purchasing and the package label before eating a product. Follow package storage and use instructions. Contact us about ingredient or labeling questions, including material differences between the listing and the product you receive. Please keep personal allergy, medication, and health-condition details out of public reviews and routine messages; our team can discuss the product’s ingredients and labeling.

Individual preferences and experiences vary. Any nutrition or well-being statements remain subject to applicable labeling and advertising requirements. Your rights relating to product safety, accurate descriptions, and legally required remedies remain in effect.

2. Age Requirement, Your Account and Privacy

Age requirement. Our online shopping services are intended for adults. You must be at least 18 and have reached the age of majority in your state of residence to create an account, place an order, or enroll in a subscription. The Site is intended for an adult audience, and children under 13 are prohibited from submitting personal information through it.

Account. Some features may require an account. Provide accurate information, keep it current, and protect your password, login codes, and other credentials. Use an account and payment method you are authorized to access. Promptly email founders@macronova.co if you suspect unauthorized activity. We may take reasonable steps to verify access or secure an account. Responsibility for unauthorized transactions is determined under applicable law and the relevant payment protections.

Account information. Keep your contact, delivery, billing, and subscription details current. Update payment information through secure checkout or account tools. Keep full payment-card numbers and security codes out of emails. We use your contact information for order updates, account security, and other service communications described in our Privacy Policy.

Privacy. Our Privacy Policy describes collection, use, disclosure, retention, and available choices concerning personal information. Send privacy questions and requests to privacy@macronova.co. Consent required for marketing or other regulated activities is obtained through the applicable enrollment or choice process.

3. User Content, Feedback and Other Submissions

User content. Available review or submission features may let you provide ratings, reviews, comments, photos, or videos for public display ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. Submit material that you own or have permission to share, including permission from identifiable people where required. Public submissions may be visible to other people; choose the personal details you publish carefully.

By submitting User Content for public display, you grant Macronova a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, and display it in connection with the Site and the review feature through which you submitted it. We may authorize service providers, including our review provider, to perform those activities for us. This license lasts while the content is displayed and for the reasonable period needed to administer removal, backups, and legally required records. Contact us to request removal from displays we control. Any retention of personal information follows our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

We preserve the substance of your opinion when formatting or moderating a submission. Use of your content, name, or likeness in separate advertising campaigns requires the additional permission applicable to that use. Private support messages, payment details, and privacy requests are handled for their stated purposes under our Privacy Policy.

Feedback. If you voluntarily send a product or Site improvement suggestion, you authorize us to evaluate and use the idea to improve our business. Any compensation or confidentiality arrangement requires a separate written agreement. Personal information and publicly displayed reviews remain subject to the specific protections described above.

Content standards. Reviews should reflect your experience and disclose any relevant incentive or relationship. Prohibited submissions include impersonation, fraudulent statements, threats, unlawful harassment, unlawful discriminatory abuse, malware, infringing material, and another person’s private or confidential information shared unlawfully. Your right to share honest opinions, including critical reviews, is protected. These Terms preserve that right across public forums.

Moderation. We may review, restrict, or remove content that violates these standards, is unrelated to the relevant product or service, or requires removal under law. Moderation follows applicable consumer-review protections. The reviewer’s positive or negative sentiment alone is insufficient grounds for removal. Users remain responsible for their submissions, and Macronova remains responsible for its own legal obligations. Contact us to report a concern.

Promotions. If we offer a contest, sweepstakes, or similar promotion, its official rules will explain eligibility, timing, entry requirements, prizes, and any submission permissions. Review those rules before participating. Ordinary sales discounts follow their displayed offer terms and the Terms of Sale.

4. Your Use of Our Site

We give you a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable permission to access the Site for its intended purposes, subject to the Agreement and applicable law. You may browse products and information, shop for personal use or gifts, manage purchases, and communicate with us through available features. Commercial resale follows the permission requirements in the Terms of Sale.

The following activities are prohibited, including helping others carry them out:

  • Unlawful activity, fraud, impersonation, or infringement of intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Threats, unlawful harassment, discriminatory abuse, or publication of another person’s private information in violation of law.
  • Uploading malicious code, exploiting vulnerabilities, bypassing security controls, or accessing accounts or systems beyond your authorization.
  • Sending spam or unauthorized commercial solicitations, collecting other users’ personal information unlawfully, or using deceptive techniques to obtain credentials.
  • Disrupting Site operations or imposing an unreasonable load on servers or connected networks.
  • Copying, selling, or commercially exploiting Site content beyond the permissions in the Agreement or applicable law.
  • Using automated tools to scrape or bulk-download Site content, including for AI training, except with our prior written permission or as expressly permitted by applicable law.
  • Reverse engineering or modifying Site software except as expressly permitted by applicable law or the software’s license.
  • Removing copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices from materials obtained through the Site.

Public search engines may index publicly accessible pages for ordinary search results, subject to our access controls and any withdrawal of that permission. Honest reviews, lawful consumer complaints, and legally protected uses of content remain permitted.

5. Our Intellectual Property Rights

Macronova and its licensors own or hold rights to the Site’s text, designs, photographs, graphics, videos, software, and other materials, subject to the rights of customers and other contributors. Copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws protect those materials. Our name, logos, and brand elements are protected to the extent provided by applicable law. Other names and marks belong to their respective owners.

You may view Site materials for their intended purpose and save or print your order information and copies of the Agreement for personal records. Additional reproduction, distribution, modification, or commercial use requires permission from the relevant rights holder, except where applicable law or an applicable license permits the use. Ownership remains with the respective rights holder. Rights expressly granted in Section 3 and legally protected uses remain available.

To report suspected infringement on our Site, email founders@macronova.co with the relevant page, a description of the material and the rights involved, and contact details so we can investigate.

6. Third-Party Tools and Websites

Third-party tools. Providers help operate our store, payments, subscriptions, messaging, and reviews. Depending on the feature, a provider’s terms and privacy notice may also apply. Shopify supports our store and payments, and Appstle supports subscriptions. Our Privacy Policy describes the providers and information practices relevant to the Services.

We remain responsible for our obligations relating to your Macronova orders and our choice and use of service providers. Contact us if a connected tool affects payment, subscription management, or an order so we can assist. Separate optional services offered by external providers are governed by the terms you accept with those providers.

External websites. Links may lead to independently operated websites or services. Review their terms and privacy notices before using them. Their operators control their content, availability, and separate transactions. A link serves as a reference; any specific endorsement by Macronova will be identified. Claims about a provider’s separate services should be directed to that provider, subject to any responsibilities Macronova has under applicable law.

7. Changes, Termination or Suspension of Your Account

Changes. We may update these Terms as our Site, products, and legal requirements develop. We will post the revised Terms and update the date above. For existing users, material changes ordinarily take effect at least 30 days after notice on the Site, with email notice to affected account holders where we have their contact details. Changes required sooner by law or to address an urgent security issue may take effect on the date stated in the notice. New users receive the version presented when they accept the Terms.

Changes apply prospectively. Accepted orders remain governed by the terms applicable when the order was placed. Subscription changes follow the notice and consent requirements in the Terms of Sale and applicable law. We obtain further consent where required. Continued use after the effective date and appropriate notice constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. You may stop using the Site or request account closure at any time.

Termination and suspension. We may restrict or suspend access to investigate reasonably suspected fraud, security threats, unlawful activity, or a material breach of the Agreement. We may close an account for a substantiated material breach or when we discontinue the relevant service. We provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue where reasonable; urgent security or legal circumstances may require immediate action. Contact us to request review of an access decision.

Orders and subscriptions. Account closure and subscription cancellation have separate operational steps. To cancel a subscription, use the customer portal linked in your subscription emails or account. Email founders@macronova.co for assistance if you have difficulty completing the process. We will address active subscriptions when processing an account-closure request and provide an effective cancellation route during any access restriction. Cancellation timing, future charges, pending orders, and refunds follow the Terms of Sale and applicable law.

Effect and survival. Closure may end access to account history; retain copies of important records. We handle retained personal information under the Privacy Policy. Accrued payment obligations, refund rights, and other rights relating to prior transactions remain in effect. Provisions concerning content permissions within their stated duration, intellectual property, liability within its stated scope, disputes, and general contract administration survive to the extent needed to resolve matters arising during your use of the Site.

8. Errors, Inaccuracies and Omissions

We work to keep Site information accurate and may correct typographical errors, outdated information, and omissions. Historical material describes the period identified with it. Product information, availability, offers, and shipping estimates may change for future purchases.

If a material error affects an order, we will contact you and follow the Terms of Sale. A proposed change to the agreed price or product requires your agreement. If we cancel an affected order, we will promptly refund the amount collected for the cancelled items, including applicable tax and shipping charges. Your rights concerning accurate descriptions, safety, and legally required remedies continue to apply.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

Site warranties. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we provide the Site and its general informational features on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We disclaim implied warranties concerning those features, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement, to the extent such disclaimers are lawful. Site availability, accuracy, and security can be affected by maintenance, errors, outages, and external events.

Scope of limits. The disclaimers and liability limits in this section apply solely to claims concerning access to and use of the Site’s general informational and technical features. Product purchases, product safety, delivery, subscription billing, refunds, express product promises, and applicable product warranties are outside those limits. The Terms of Sale, any express product promises, and applicable law govern those matters.

Excluded damages and liability cap. Within that limited scope and to the extent permitted by applicable law, Macronova LLC and the team members and service providers acting on its behalf are excluded from liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits and lost data. Their combined aggregate liability for claims within that scope is limited to the greater of $100 or the amounts you paid Macronova during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Protected rights and claims. The exclusions and cap above preserve liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury or death, violations of law, and any liability that applicable law makes nonwaivable. Statutory consumer rights and remedies remain available. Applicable law supplies the deadlines for bringing claims. A jurisdiction’s mandatory protections control wherever they give you additional rights.

10. Indemnification and Preserved Claims

Indemnification. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for reasonable losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that Macronova LLC incurs from a third-party claim to the extent caused by your unlawful conduct, your knowing material breach of the Agreement, or User Content you submit that infringes that third party’s rights. This responsibility applies to losses attributable to your conduct. Macronova remains responsible for losses attributable to its own conduct and that of its team or providers.

We will give you prompt notice of a claim, provide a reasonable opportunity to participate in its defense, and take reasonable steps to limit losses. If we control the defense, we will use reasonably appropriate counsel and keep you informed. A settlement that imposes payment, an admission, or another obligation on you requires your written consent. A settlement that imposes an obligation on Macronova requires our written consent. Consent will be considered reasonably. Each party retains any protections applicable law provides concerning defense and reimbursement obligations.

Preserved claims. You retain claims and remedies available under applicable law, including claims concerning Macronova’s conduct and the protections of California Civil Code section 1542 where applicable. Any release of claims as part of resolving a specific dispute requires a separate agreement. Honest consumer reviews and lawful complaints remain protected.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Governing law. California law and applicable federal law govern the Agreement, subject to mandatory consumer protections and choice-of-law rules that require application of another jurisdiction’s law.

Direct resolution. Please contact founders@macronova.co or write to the address in Section 14 if you have a dispute. Include your name, a way to reach you, any relevant order number, a description of the issue, and the resolution you seek. Our team will review the information and work with you in good faith to resolve it. Participation in this process is voluntary. You may take timely legal action, seek urgent relief, or contact a government agency at any time. Legal filing deadlines continue to apply unless a separate agreement or applicable law provides otherwise.

Courts and venue. Either party may bring a claim in a court with jurisdiction. This includes an eligible small claims court. Subject to your mandatory rights to use another court or venue, the parties consent to the state courts in Sacramento County, California, and the federal court for the Eastern District of California as permissible venues. Other legally available venues remain available.

Procedural rights and costs. You and Macronova retain the right to a judge or jury where available and to participate in collective or class proceedings where permitted by law. Arbitration may be used if both parties separately agree after a dispute arises. Court rules and applicable law govern costs, attorney fees, deadlines, and available relief.

12. Electronic Communications Notice

We use email and Site notices for order confirmations, subscription messages, account updates, and other service communications. Keep your email address current and retain copies of important messages and the Agreement.

By providing an email address for a transaction or account, you agree that we may use it for related service communications. Electronic records satisfy writing requirements to the extent applicable law permits. When the law requires a specific disclosure or consent process for electronic delivery, we will use that process. Contact us to request available paper copies or discuss withdrawing electronic-delivery consent. We will explain any effect on features that require electronic communications and preserve your applicable rights concerning orders, refunds, and subscription cancellation.

Marketing email and text-message choices follow their separate enrollment disclosures and our Privacy Policy. Marketing text enrollment requires its applicable consent. Use the email unsubscribe link or reply STOP to marketing texts to opt out. Legally valid revocation requests will be honored. Necessary service communications may continue as permitted by law.

13. Miscellaneous

Interpretation. Headings help readers navigate the Agreement. Examples introduced by "including" illustrate the relevant category. Courts will interpret the Agreement under applicable law.

Entire agreement. The Agreement and additional terms expressly presented and accepted for a particular feature govern that relationship and supersede prior agreements about the same subject, subject to accrued rights and the change provisions above. Purchase-specific precedence follows the Overview. Express product promises and legally protected representations retain their effect. A separately signed supplier or business agreement governs the matters it expressly covers.

Waiver and severability. A waiver of a contractual right must be stated in writing by the party giving it and applies to the matter identified. A delay in enforcement preserves future enforcement rights, subject to applicable law. If a provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited or severed as required by law, and the remaining provisions will continue to the extent legally permissible.

Relationship of the parties. You and Macronova remain separate parties. A partnership, agency, or authority to bind the other party requires a separate agreement.

Assignment and delegation. Transfer of your rights or obligations under the Agreement requires our prior written consent, subject to applicable law. Macronova may transfer the Agreement as part of a merger, reorganization, or sale of the relevant business if the successor assumes our obligations and your existing protections continue. We will provide notice where required. We may use service providers to perform our obligations and remain responsible as required by law.

14. Notices

Consumer questions and complaints. Contact us by email or mail about pricing, an order, the Site, or the Agreement. Purchase prices and applicable tax and shipping charges appear before you submit an order. The Terms of Sale explain the order and refund process.

California residents may also contact the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Consumer Information Center, at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or (800) 952-5210 for assistance identifying appropriate consumer complaint resources.

Contract notices. Send contractual notices to the contact below, identify these Terms, and provide enough information to identify the matter. We may send notices to your supplied email or mailing address or post general notices on the Site as described in Section 7. Notice effectiveness follows applicable law and any specific notice rule in the Agreement. Service of legal process follows the applicable legal requirements.
